What Data Is Processed?
HandyTools itself does not store any personal data and does not transmit any user data to us or third parties. All app data (e.g. settings) remains exclusively on your device.
The app integrates Google AdMob to display advertising. Depending on your consent, AdMob may process the following data:
- Advertising ID (IDFA / GAID) and device identifiers
- Device information (model, OS version, language)
- Approximate location (based on IP address)
- Usage data and interactions with ads
Consent and Consent Management (UMP SDK)
When you first launch the app, a consent dialog appears provided by the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK. There you can choose whether personalised or only non-personalised ads are shown.
- Personalised ads: AdMob processes the data listed above to build a profile and serve interest-based ads. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.
- Non-personalised ads (opt-out): If you decline, only context-based ads are shown. Even then, technically necessary data (e.g. IP address) may be processed for fraud prevention.
You can withdraw or change your consent at any time in the app settings under Privacy Options. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
Data Transfer to Google
Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) is an independent controller for AdMob data. The transfer to the USA is based on standard contractual clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. For more information please see Google's Privacy Policy.
Your Rights
Under the GDPR you have the following rights:
- Access to your stored data (Art. 15)
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16)
- Erasure (Art. 17)
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18)
- Data portability (Art. 20)
- Objection to processing (Art. 21)
- Withdrawal of consent with effect for the future (Art. 7 para. 3)
To exercise your rights please contact us at the e-mail address above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — the competent authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
